The Communist Party’s Central Committee held a meeting on March 16. The Communists decided that they will not cooperate with any of the ruling parties, at least until the early elections, the party’s leader Vladimir Voronin said after the meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We are for strengthening the power, but only after the early elections. We will not cooperate with them, only after the elections. The people are waiting for steps, not statements,” said Vladimir Voronin. The Communist leader also said that the parties that formed the Alliance for European Integration tell lies to the people and Moldova will sign no agreements with the EU. The Communist Party over the last week staged a number of protests, seeking early parliamentary elections. It also initiated the procedure for dismissing Head of Parliament Marian Lupu, accusing him of shifting his responsibilities onto the legislative body’s secretariat.
