The largest part of the Communist MPs, including Speaker Vladimir Voronin, Monday left the assembly hall of the Parliament immediately after considering all the items on the agenda. Thus, the Opposition MPs delivered their final speeches in their absence, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I cannot respond for all. I don’t know what the reason was,” said Vladimir Turcan, first deputy speaker of Parliament. According to him, the MPs that left the sitting did not break the regulations as all the bills included in the agenda were voted on. “I understood that the Communists who went out of the assembly hall followed the example of Marian Lupu. I think that they left the PCRM,” the leader of Moldova Noastra Alliance Serafim Urecheanu said smiling. The leader of the Liberal Parry Mihai Ghimpu said the same thing. “The PCRM’s decision is defiance of the Moldovan people not of the Opposition as they (the Communists – e.n.) consider,” said Vlad Filat, president of the Liberal Democratic Party. “The MPs come to the Parliament’s meetings to hear something new. It is no more interesting to come and every time hear about the events that happened after April 5,” explained the Communist MP Mark Tkachuk, who attended the sitting until the end. The 17th Parliament had its last meeting today. Vladimir Voronin is to sign a decree to dissolve the legislative body and announce the date of the early elections. Most probably, the elections will be held late in July.
