MPs on behalf of the Communists Party (PCRM) challenged the decision to dismiss Artur Reshetnikov from the post of director of the Security and Information Service and appoint Gheorghe Mihai instead of him in the Constitutional Court.
In a communique, the PCRM says that Artur Reshetnikov was discharged illegally as his five-year-term in office hadn't expired at that moment. He had held the post for less than two years. The Communist MPs consider that the Constitution was violated and demand that the court examine their application as an emergency.
The PCRM says the parliamentary majority continues to seriously defy the democratic norms and constantly violates the Constitutions by its acts.
“The Communist MPs will not tolerate such serious violations of the legislation and will react promptly to such actions through the Constitutional Court, other courts and the international organizations,” the communique says.
The members of the government coalition voted in favor of dismissing Artur Reshetnikov on October 25. They invoked that he made public accusations against a number of persons without observing the presumption of innocence, especially during the electoral campaigns.
