Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean accuses the Communist lawmakers of putting pressure on the police after police officers found illegal firearms in the house of a Communist activist, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, the official said the police, together with the Prosecutor’s Office, on September 24 carried out a legal and authorized search at the place of a person. Besides the arms held legally by him, there were found ammunition kept illegally – bullets that go though the bullet-proof vest, expansive bullets that penetrate the body and explode – as well as grenade launchers, one of which had a guiding system.

“Something grave happened. Five Communist MPs intervened in the procedures and exerted pressure on those who carried out the search. Afterward, they phoned police officers to influence the investigation. Such intervention is unacceptable as the parliamentary immunity does not allow committing illegalities. If MPs hadn’t been there, nobody would have found out that the person was a party activist,” said Dorin Recean.

He called on the lawmakers not to intervene and to allow the police to investigate the case.
