Communist lawmaker Iurie Muntean will not participate in this year’s parliamentary elections. He made the announcement in an interview for the news portal Omega, IPN reports.
Muntean said the Communist Party became a provincial glamour party that is no longer a victorious party. Over the next few years, the MP plans to concentrate his attention on research in transport, energy and infrastructure.
Earlier, former Communist Mark Tkachuk announced that he decided to withdraw from politics, while MP Alexandr Petkov said he will not be present on the Communist Party’s list of candidates for this autumn’s elections.
