The Communist lawmakers will initiate the procedure for dismissing the Leanca Government in Parliament as they are dissatisfied with the hearings on Banca de Economii held in Parliament. They said the situation can be remedied only if the government leaves, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, the chairman of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said that Banca de Economii was stolen. The additional share issue was fully illegal as such a decision should have been taken by Parliament. “These hearings are a scenario written several days ago. Regardless of their final result, the Communist faction will initiate the procedure for granting a vote of no confidence to the Government,” said the Communist leader.
On October 3, Parliament questioned Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu, Deputy Minister of Economy Tudor Copaci, the National Bank governor Dorin Dragutanu and deputy head of the National Financial Market Commission Iurie Filip over the situation of Banca de Economii. According to the officials, the implemented solution was the most indicated one and the Government took into account the recommendations of the parliamentary commission that examined the situation of the bank.
After the additional closed-type share issue at Banca de Economii, the state-owned shareholding in the bank fell from 56.13% (majority holding) to 33% + 1 share (blocking holding).
