The councilors of the communist faction of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) solicited to exclude from the agenda the issue on organizing a municipal contest for raising a sculpture composition “In memory of the totalitarian communist regime’s victims (1940-1991)”. The issue was excluded from the agenda of CMC by the communists’ vote. Svetlana Pop, the leader of the communists’ faction solicited on Thursday, August 3, at the meeting of CMC to exclude from the agenda several issues, including the aforementioned one. The councilor Valeri Klimenco solicited the faction to explain the reasons of this solicitation. “How can we know that they have not been bribed to exclude this issue?”, Klimenco wondered. He was supported by the chairman of the sitting, Mihai Roscovan. As retort, Popa declared that he is not obliged to give explanations and solicited the councilors to continue the meeting. The issue was excluded through the vote of 19 councilors of those 37 present at the meeting. Of those 29 issues proposed for today’s meeting, the Program on social-economic development of Chisinau municipality and on approving the tariffs for renting, maintaining apartment blocks were also excluded.
