The regulations concerning the method of using meal vouchers were approved by the Cabinet on March 12. These define the conditions for using meal vouchers by salary earners, employers, operators authorized to print vouchers and commercial units and the fiscal aspect in this regard, IPN reports.
It is thus provided that the number of tickets issued to the salary earner should be equal to the number of days worked the previous month. The nominal value of a ticket should be at least 35 lei. These can be issued on paper and in electronic form and are not transmissible and only the holder can use them. It is banned exchanging the tickets for money.
The tickets can be used to purchase only food and no alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. The commercial units that will use meal vouchers will be obliged to place an announcement about this at the entrance.
The regulations concerning the method of using meal vouchers were worked out to implement the Law on Meal Vouchers that is designed to motivate employees, to increase their salaries and to cultivate healthier eating habits.
