The Government is looking for solutions to cope with winter. The Commission for Exceptional Situations allowed the import of sawdust and non-conglomerated wood waste used as raw material to make solid biofuel during the state of emergency, said Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu.

The
Commission for Exceptional Situations decided that in order to cope with a potential halt in the supply of gas from Gazprom, SA “Termoelectrica” was authorized to urgently purchase crude oil for ensuring a minimum reserve of 20,000 tonnes.

Also, during the state of emergency, it is allowed providing services to transport firewood based on acts of origin without the necessity of notifying and registering beforehand and of having permissive road transport documents.

The operator of the Bulk Cargo Terminal of the Giurgiulești International Free Port will give priority to the port services for coal intended for the definitive import on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. To benefit from these concessions, the importers will submit a written application 48 hours beforehand to the terminal’s administration, indicating the exact quantities that need to be placed in definite import regime in the Republic of Moldova.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development earlier presented a contingency plan for economizing on energy sources. In accordance with the document, if the gas supplies are reduced by 35% or 50%, the temperature of heat in the centralized heating system will be decreased by 10% and street lighting will be turned off after 11pm. The working program will be optimized, while online learning will be applied during ten days a month.
