Ten young people aged between 18 and 27 will be trained to become commercial pilots, as part of certain specialised courses, organised for the first time in Moldova by the Training Aeronautic Centre (TAC), Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to TAC chairman Stefan Motornai, most of young people are coming from families where piloting has become a tradition. The trainees will attend a 24-month course, with 9 months dedicated to theory lessons, and 15 months to practice. The courses have begun on Wednesday, May 2.
The trainees will take practical lessons on a Austria-made four-seat twin-engine Diamond DA42, which has recommended itself as one of the most modern aircraft, featuring last generation navigation equipment.
At the same time, Stefan Motornai says, it is planned to purchase a flight simulator for exercising emergency situations that can not be simulated in the air.
Motornai also said that after completing the courses the pilots will receive the certificate of “CPL” type (commercial pilot certificate) and will have the right to be trained on special aircrafts, as Airbus, Boeing etc. They will be able to work on contract basis, according to the licence they hold.
