The behavior of the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase is criticized by political commentators and journalists. According to these, the attacks on “inconvenient journalists” are unacceptable, especially in the case of a public figure. The opinions were stated in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

Journalist Oxana Bodnar said Andrei Năstase, by his behavior, shows he is not ready to be a Member of Parliament and to speak about the own beliefs before the people. “Instead, he attacks those who put him ordinary questions,” she stated, noting the politician’s reputation is not irreproachable by far and the people started to become disappointed in his behavior.

Vice president of the Democratic Youth Organization Ion Harghel said Andrei Năstase’s behavior shows he is frustrated. He inherited the habit of attacking the inconvenient press from other politicians, such as ex-Premier Vlad Filat. This costs Andrei Năstase as his popular approval rating is declining.

As to the behavior of opposition politicians, political commentator Vitali Catană said there are such red lines as decency, common sense and education that should not be crossed. The politicians from the opposition most probably have an attacking tactic. “If this is a technology, it is understood. They apply labelling by measuring their own condition and extrapolate to others,” stated the commentator.

Andrei Năstase was featured on the ‘press enemies’ hoarding set up by media outlets in front of the Parliament Building within the Press Freedom Days, alongside the Shor Party’s MPs Ilan Shor and Marina Tauber, Socialist MP Oleg Savva, Democratic MPs Vladimir Andronache and Andrian Candu, and ACUM MP Maria Ciobanu
