Alexei Serebreanschi, SIS colonel in reserve and former chief of external espionage, accuses the managers of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) of incompetence, saying that by the actions taken during the last few years, they display clear signs of commission of very serious offenses. According to him, there are suspicions of abuse of power and misconduct in office and also of intentional disclosure of classifieds information and covering of crimes. These illegalities can have disastrous consequences for the state and its security.

“These persons, who now hold high-ranking posts in SIS, used these methods during the state capture, when Esaulenco was named SIS vice director. Later, after the fight against state capture started, fighter Dodon promoted Esaulenco and this group to the administration of SIS, offering them ranks of general overnight. It is interesting to know for what remarkable successes they obtained these ranks,” Alexei Serebreanschi stated in a news conference at IPN.

Alexei Serebreanschi noted that he h ad worked for SIS for 19 years, with his last post being chief of external espionage. On June 26, 2019, in several hours after Igor Dodon (then President) presented Alexandr Esaulenco as the new SIS director to the staff, the latter, without any legal reason, in an abusive way, ordered to dismiss him. “In protest at Esaulenco’s illegal decision, the same day I tendered my resignation of honor and left SIS. I then appealed the order of the SIS director to court,” stated the colonel in reserve.

According to him, the decision to dismiss him was political in character. “It was taken immediately by Esaulenco, on the personal instruction of Dodon, for the reason that the external espionage subdivision I led possessed information about the illegal activities of Dodon abroad. Moreover, the external espionage subdivision possessed data confirming that Dodon became illegally involved in the release of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who were held hostage in Afghanistan,” stated Alexei Serebreanschi.

According to him, in the campaign prior to the presidential elections of the autumn of 2020, SIS disseminated false information about the current deputy prime minister for reintegration Vladislav Kulminski, according to which this was an agent of the intelligence services of Tiraspol and he was infiltrated into the European diplomatic community in Chisinau for gathering information and taking measures to exert influence in the interests of the Transnistrian region.

“Under the direction of Esaulenco and Gumeniuc, SIS created a network of Telegram channels and anonymous news websites with the aim of spreading fake news about politicians who were inconvenient to Dodon, opposition MPs, representatives of the local public authorities who represent opposition parties, European diplomats, including representatives of national ethnic minorities,” stated Alexei Serebreanschi.
