At the end of this July, the councilors of Chisinau approved a draft decision whereby the district head’s officers were obliged to complete the liquidation of temporary vegetable waste storage places until September 1. By September 5, the temporary storage places at the National Stadium on Tighina St and at the stadium of the Theoretical Lyceum “Nicolae Iorga” hadn’t been removed.
Deputy head of Botanica district Boris Prepelita has told IPN that the branches that remained at the stadium of “Nicolae Iorga” Lyceum will be collected in two days. The temporary storage places at the stadium of the boarding school No. 2 on Grenoble St, at the memorial complex “Cemetery of Heroes” on Decebal Blvd and at Aeroport St were liquidated. The branches were chopped and taken by companies. Persons didn’t ask to be given branches.
Gavril Cupcea, division head at the Centru district head’s office, said the branches stored on Ialoveni St were taken away, while those from the National Stadium located on Tighina St will be collected in the course of this week. A number of 130 trucks of branches of 30 tonnes each have been transported so far. The tractor broke down and the works were suspended. Also, the chopper was destroyed in the fire that occurred at the stadium. The branches are taken to the quarry on Pruncul St and are processed there. Four persons applied to take branches, but one of this changed his mind.
According to the head of Rascani district Nicolae Balaur, the branches stored on Doina St were taken away.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Green Areas Association Eliferii Haruta said the tender contest to purchase a new chopper is to be held on September 22.
