Only three days after the Europa League qualifier defeat to Partizan Belgrad, St. Gheorghe didn’t manage to overcome bottom-placed Codru Lozova in National Division matchday 10.

Codru were even in the lead twice during the game. In the first half, Mandrîncenco equalized for St. Gheorghe after Cojocari scored for Codru. On the 89th minute, the goalkeeper Railean scored an own goal, but St. Gheorghe were able to equalize again thanks to Slivca.

“We had some good opportunities and we had to score. It’s a lesson for all of us,” said St. Gheorghe manager Serghei Cebotari.

The draw 2:2 means St. Gheorghe weren’t able to exploit Petrocub’s defeat 1:2 at the hands of Milsami and remained on the 3rd spot of the table.

Petrocub and St. Gheorghe are both 8 points behind defending champions Sheriff, who boast a maximum of 30 points after 10 games. In the last match, however, Sheriff had some anxious moments before edging 2:1 Speranța.

In the weekend’s derby, Dacia-Buiucani scored another win against Zimbru, 2:1.

Also on matchday 10, Dinamo-Auto beat the newly-promoted FC Florești, 5:0. Maxim Mihaliov scored a hat-trick, with Paireli and Bulat also scoring.
