A coalition between the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Democratic Party (PDM) will be formed in a particular way despite the ideological and political divergences existing between the two parties. The supporting by the two parties of a technocratic government could be one of the variants. The opinions were stated in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Political commentator Corneliu Ciurea said a coalition between the Socialists and the Democrats will be anyway formed in a particular way. There will be formed either a majority between the two parliamentary groups or a majority between a group and a part of the other group. The major difference between these two parties is ideological in character.

“We witness the initiation of real negotiations where the parties have to divide a country as any negotiations on the creation of a majority include, beside the settlement of conflicts, a particular reconciliation, an algorithm, a division of posts, a bargain. We hope all these things will exist. The meaning of these discussions is to form a majority coalition and to divide power. Those of the bloc ACUM want something else: to vote laws, to impose an ideological viewpoint immediately. In fact, the political moment imposes another, pragmatic logic - of hand shaking,” stated Corneliu Ciurea.

Journalist Victor Nichituș noted there are significant ideological and political differences between the PSRM and PDM, but a formula could be identified for the rapprochement of the two parties by installing a technocratic government that would be supported by the two parties. On the other hand, the Socialist MPs could insist on voting laws that would not suit the Democratic Party. “In these negotiations, we should clearly see what can be conceded and to what extent as the freezing of the European course or the non-implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU can be no way allowed,” stated Victor Nichituș.

Discussions between President Igor Dodon and the leaders of the PSRM and PDM were held on April 2 on the initiative of the President. The co-presidents of the bloc ACUM were also invited to discussions, but they refused to come.
