An eventual coalition between the bloc ACUM and the Party of Socialists would mean complete discrediting of these entities before the voters. At the same time, by the 2023 elections the PSRM and the bloc ACUM would fully disappear from the political arena of Moldova, expert in political sciences Ruslan Shevchenko was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel.

Ruslan Shevchenko noted that by speaking about a temporary coalition with the PSRM, the bloc ACUM hides from the citizens the fact that a way for governing the country further will open after the adoption of the package of de-oligarchization laws. “Who will govern further? These 26 MPs of the bloc ACUM? They do not have powers. It means the alliance between the bloc ACUM and the Socialists should be formed officially or unofficially for the next four years,” stated the expert.

Political pundit Roman Mihăeș said in the current post-electoral situation, the behavior of the bloc ACUM is strange for those who try to understand why this does not go to discussions with the Democratic Party. Eventual discussions between ACUM and the PDM would be something normal given that both of the parties were voted by pro-European electors. There are people who would like to return to Moldovan politics and business behind the bloc ACUM. As to the Party of Socialists, this consults the Kremlin when taking decisions.

According to the pundit, the common interest of ACUM and the PSRM is to remove the Democratic Party from the game, to name obedient persons to the senior state posts and to trigger snap elections. “They understand that they cannot govern together as they would kill their voters this way. If the Socialists formed a coalition with the bloc ACUM, in half a year the two entities would lose at least half of their voters,” stated Roman Mihăeș. According to him, the stratagem of the two entities is to induce snap elections that would be held based on the proportional representation system under which they would try to win more seats of MP.
