Igor Dobrovolski will train again the national football team of Moldova. The Olympic champion of 1988 will lead Moldova in the qualifying competition of the World Cup. He also led the national squad in 30 matches played in 2007-2009, scoring seven victories, eight draws and 15 defeats, IPN reports.
Among the most memorable results are the victories against Bosnia and Hungary and the draws with Turkey and Greece. In the period, the ‘tricolors’ took the best position in the FIFA rankings – 37th in 2008. For comparison, Moldova is now on the 155th position and won no victory during the last 17 games. It scored the last victory in the friendly against Saudi Arabia on May 24, 2014, when Moldova was trained by Ion Caras.
For Dobrovolski, the national team of Moldova was the second team he coached. Between 2005 and 2006, he trained and played for Tiligul Tiraspol, which in that period won a victory against Sheriff that was then invincible under the command of Leonid Kuchuk. At club level, Dobrovolski coached the teams Dacia, Veris and Sahalin. He trained longer only Dacia, with which he became champion in 2011 and vice champion in 2012, 2013 and 2015.
