After presenting the Government’s report on the August raider attacks on the banking system in Parliament last week, Prime Minister Vlad Filat demanded that the chairman of the CNPF be discharged. The director of the Security and Information Service Gheorghe Mihai was dismissed under a draft decision adopted by the votes of the Liberal-Democrat and Communist lawmakers. Head of Parliament Marian Lupu was to initiate the procedure for discharging the CNPF chairman and the prosecutor general within seven days.
