The inhabitants of Cneazevca village of Leova district on May 11 will take part in a local referendum on the dismissal of the mayor. The date was set in the March 25 meeting of the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.
The plebiscite was initiated by a group of villagers.
The Commission also decided that new elections to choose the local council will be held the same day in Cealic village of Taraclia district. The former council was dissolved after it adopted no decision during six consecutive months.
The local authorities of the two villages and the parties represented in Parliament will propose candidates for the posts of member of the electoral councils of the electoral districts Cneazevca and Cealic, while the local mayor’s offices will compile the electoral rolls for the referendum and the new local elections.
