The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) informs that 845.7 million lei was transferred on April 1 for paying pensions and social benefits through Moldova’s Post Office. The CNAS reminds that all the pensions were indexed by 4.83% as of today, IPN reports.

It also transferred 50.3 million lei to banks for paying financial support to recipients whose pensions are lower than the minimum pension for a given category. The difference is covered with state budget funds.

Also, 2.7 million lei was transferred to Moldova’s Post Office and banks for paying lump sums to the recipients of all types of pensions and social benefits set before January 1, 2020 whose monthly size is lower than 2,000 lei. The money is intended for persons who didn’t collect the lump sums for different reasons.

In a press release, the CNAS says that under the Commission for Exceptional Situations’ decision, as of April 1, 2020 employees of Moldova’s Post Office accompanied by a police officer will take all types of pensions home to elderly people. Also, the social benefits will be paid through post offices, regardless of the place of residence of domicile, by taking social distancing measures so as to protect the health of pensioners, who are the most susceptible ones to the new virus.
