The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) was conferred the award “Ensuring of migrant workers’ access to social security benefits through social security agreements” in Stockholm. The award of the International Social Security Association was handed over in the Regional Social Security Forum for Europe on April 18, IPN reports, quoting the House’s website.
The Good Practice in Social Security Contest that is held every three years involved 27 organizations from 19 countries that submitted 71 applications. This year the international forum centered on the most important innovations in the social security systems and the best practices showing the European social protection institutions’ commitment to maintain high standards.
The Regional Social Security Forum for Europe became an important platform for the administrators and managers of the upper level, politicians and experts who can exchange information and analyze the state of social security and administration in Europe.
Currently, the Republic of Moldova is a party to 16 international conventions on socials security. Bilateral agreements were signed with a number of states, such as Romania, Russia, Portugal, Bulgaria, Luxemburg, Austria, and Belgium. Similar accords are being negotiated with Latvia, Turkey, and Israel.
The National House of Social Insurance of Moldova became a fully-fledged member of the International Social Security Association in 2004. In December 2010, CNAS president Maria Borta was elected as a member of the Association’s Bureau for a three-year period. As a member of the Association, the CNAS can take part in all the international meetings centering on social security and pensions, can establish relations of partnership with similar organizations and can implement modern practices of the pension systems of developed countries.
