The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) published the first guide on the system of mandatory health insurance. CNAM general director Mircea Buga said that the guide would be the new communication formula between the three involved sides: insurance holders, medical workers and CNAM.
“With the help of this guide, we want to provide more information about the rights of the holders of mandatory health insurance. We have received many requests to offer information about methods of insurance and categories of beneficiaries. In this guide, we present the main problems that people face and provide answers and advice”, Mircea Buga declared on Tuesday, October 9, at a press conference.
Lilia Onea, head of CNAM’s service for information and communication with mass media, said that the guide was worked on for 3 months, as it was difficult to translate the advanced medical vocabulary so that it would be understood by all the holders of medical insurances. “The guide focuses on the holder of the health insurance and contains stories of real patients, who behaved improperly when using healthcare services, and we tell them how to use the health insurance properly. This the most difficult section for us to explain. The guide also contains information about the list of subsidized medicines and about how to get these drugs”, added Onea.
The guide will be distributed for free in medical and pharmaceutical institutions contracted by CNAM, in the Moldovan Post offices and in CNAM’s 12 local agencies. The guide comes with 6 additional leaflets: 5 about the proper use of the insurance at various levels of medical assistance and one about the medicines subsidized within the mandatory health insurance system.
