CMC or Parliament?

The Chisinau councilors that entered the Parliament after the April 5 elections said they will announce Friday whether they remain in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) or keep the seat of MP. On the suggestion of a group of councilors, the CMC will come together for a meeting on Friday, May 22, Info-Prim Neo reports. Such a decision must be taken by the leader of the faction of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Alexandru Tanase and three councilors representing the Liberal Party (PL): the party’s president Mihai Ghimpu and Vadim Cojocaru and Gheorghe Brega. The leader of the PL faction in the CMC Corina Fusu said she chose to be an MP. She will be replaced as leader of the faction by councilor Ion Ciobanu. In accordance with the legislation, the person that was elected as MP but holds another post that is incompatible with the post of MP must choose the position they want to keep within 30 days of the validation of the election results
