The meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), which was called at the request of 1/3 of the councilors, didn’t take police because the quorum was not present. The councilors of the Party of Socialists and the Shor Party didn’t present themselves at the meeting. The agenda included only one item – the nomination of candidates for member of the Electoral Bureau of Polling Stations (EBPS) of the municipality of Chisinau.
PPPDA leader Andrei Năstase said the inclusion of particular persons and the removal of other persons from the lists of members of the EBPL at the discretion of the Socialists through the agency of the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban is a direct attack on democracy, which should be condemned. In the next meeting of the Chisinau Council, they will suggest considering the annulment of the order on the property tax in Chisinau.
PAS councilor Vasile Grădinaru said the councilors were issued with a document with about 130 candidates for member of the EBPL, who during man y years correctly organized the elections. They consider the rise in the property tax should be reexamined as this is the biggest problem faced now by the citizens of Chisinau.
Those attending signed a statement in support of calling a new meeting for June 15, 10am. The agenda will include a number of issues and the annulment of the order on the property tax in Chisinau will be among them.
