CMC commission postponed examination of tariff increase in public transport

The juridical commission for public order and activity of local public administration of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) adjourned on Tuesday, 28 March, examination of the issue on tariff increase to public transport in capital till the specialised commission, examining the situation in public transport, presents the results of the analysis. Municipal counsellor Oleg Cernei, member of special commission, said that the commission did not met yet since year’s beginning and has no result. According to him, commission members shall discuss a range of important items, including examination of public transport development strategy in municipality Chisinau and the Action Plan for the latter one. CMC created the special commission in order to discuss the situation of public transport in the capital and the issue of tariff increase of last autumn, its activity being criticised by certain counsellors and private transporters. Creation of the commission was followed by protests organised by transport companies of the capital regarding the refusal of local public authorities to increase the price of a trip after the oil has increased.
