The repair works at Vale Morilor Lake will go on backed by chairman of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) Eduard Musuc, although no money has been allocated. As Eduard Musuc says he holds all the documents to continue the works and is confident about the financing, opposition councilors say the firm evacuating the mud is commissioned illegally, Info-Prim Neo reports. At the CMC's Thursday session, the councilors decided to allocate 5 million lei, from the municipal budget, to pay salaries of employees of Autocontrans company. Liberal councilor Mihai Ghimpu said Autocontans had been selected illegally to do the job and reminded of a notification of the Chisinau Prosecutor in this regard. The prosecutor's office asks to annul the results of the tender won by this company. Ghimpu asked prosecutor Sergiu Croitor to voice his view, as he was at the session. Croitor was backed by a number of opposition councilors, but CMC chairman Eduard Musuc shirked from giving him the floor. Croitor later shirked from answering media's questions. PLDM faction leader Alexandru Tanase said Autocontrans worked on a legal contract, since nobody sued it. The opposition condemned Eduard Musuc's gesture to call on the Government to solve the issue. “The fact that we discuss the issue three days after Musuc met the head of the state, who instructed him, and now we are as some simple executioners is not sincere on our part. We're not a subdivision of the Moldovan presidency,” AMN councilor Oleg Cernei said. Communist councilor Valery Pavlov said “it's unpleasant that the head of the state is blamed for this problem.” Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu presented three projects to reconstruct the Valea Morilor leisure area. They are grounded on the idea to hold tenders to let companies invest in that area. In the long run however, the CMC's majority voted for the chairman's proposal who hopes for money from the Government. He stated “all works can start as soon as the Council signs the decision.” “I can give you unofficial information after the joint session of the central authorities at the presidency that there will be a contribution from the Environmental Fund, up 10 million lei, as the President will propose to modify the state budget to allocate 17-20 million to do the works,” Eduard Musuc said. The entertainment area started to be revamped after all the fish died in the lake. The works started back in 2006, but ceased later because of money shortage.
