The Chisinau Municipal Council voted on Thursday, July 20, with an absolute majority of votes (34 out of 36 present councilors) the appointment of the new interim head of the General Education, Science, Youth and Sport Department - Tatiana Nagnibeda. Her appointment is to fill the vacancy of the ex-head of the department, Alexandru Roman, who was appointed as rector of the Public Administration Academy. Even in at the beginning of this week, Mayor Vasile Ursu has appointed Gheorghe Suceveanu as interim head of the department until a new director general is elected, it was not mentioned on Thursday why the interim competences were delegated to someone else. Previously, Ursu stated that Suceveanu’s appointment was motivated by the fact that, at the moment, repair works take place in pre-university institutions, which were in his competences as deputy director of DGESTS. According to Ursu, the new director is to be appointed in three weeks the latest. The new interim head of the Education Department, Tatiana Nagnibeda, said that she has a pedagogical activity over 27 years, she manages education institutions for 16 years already, she is an author of texbooks, articles, scholar curriculum and advocates „for the reform of the education system”. She has graduated the Pedagogic Institute „Ion Creanga”, and has worked till now as principal of the Lyceum „Alexandru Ioan Cuza”. The statement of the new interim head about the fact that she „cares very much about her job as a teacher of history and social sciences”, determined the councilor of the Alliance „Moldova Noastra” Pavel Caba to ask her about the attitude she shares towards the integrated history course. Nagnibeda replied that it is not about the integrated history, but a principle of integrated teaching, which she supports, as such methods are applied successfully for other objects as well, such as algebra and geometry which now are integrated in mathematics, highlighting that, in her opinion, „the contents do not affect the title and the teaching principle”.
