A number of classic and articulated trolleybuses will be delivered to the capital city at the end of this year and at the beginning of next year. The Urban Bus Company also plans to buy new units of transport, IPN reports.
Dorin Chernyi, the head of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company, in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, said that a contract for the purchase of ten articulated trolleybuses Solaris was signed with a Swiss public transport company. The municipality paid 20% of the cost of the trolleybuses in advance. The delivery deadline is December-January.
There was also signed a contract for the purchase of three articulated trolleybuses with a public transport company based in Salzburg, Austria. Ten more units of transport will be shipped in January-February.
In October, the Chisinau Electric Transport Company plans to take part in a tender contest in Latvia’s Riga to buy another 25 classic trolleybuses and 18 articulated trolleybuses for an estimated 25 million lei.
According to the Company, over 101 million passengers were transported by trolleybuses in the municipality of Chisinau so far this year.
