The National Participation Council and the NGO Council have announced that they will make use of the right to challenge bills that do not meet the provisions of the law on decisional transparency. The decision was taken following the approval by the executive of a bill providing that the meetings of the Government will be held behind closed doors, IPN reports.

The organizations recommend ensuring the publication of the final variant of the drafted bill, the synthesis of the made recommendations and the proceedings of some of the consultancy meetings held on the public authority’s website. They also ask publishing the materials related to the bills proposed for examination on www.gov.md at least three days before the Government’s meetings.

Civil society insists that only the bills that were subject to the decisional transparency procedure and were published on the Government’s website should be disused in the meetings of the executive.

It also recommends publishing the imminent schedule for examining bills, draft normative acts and policy documents on www.gov.md.
