Civil society representatives brought together by the “For Europe” platform will begin in the fall an ample campaign of informing the people about the benefits of European integration. The announcement was made by Lilia Snegureac, head of the Resource Center “Pro Dialog”, at a talk-show on Radio Moldova.
Snegureac said the campaign will be devoid of any electoral or political propaganda. “NGOs are apolitical, it's in their statutes. The fact that we are launching the campaign during the electoral period is just a coincidence. We planned it some time ago, but delayed it because of the summer holidays and heat, as people wouldn't stay to listen to us in such conditions”, she explained.
She added that the goal of the “For Europe” platform is to strengthen Moldova's European option and democratic development, to support public institutions in achieving the European goal and to monitor the implementation of agreed tasks.
The constituent declaration of the “For Europe” platform was published on June 30 and, according to Snegureac, over 52 have NGOs signed it so far. Their goal is to support Moldova's European trajectory and to monitor the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement signed on June 27 in Brussels.
The platform's other goals include speeding up the reforms, strengthening the rule of law, ensuring the rule of law, fighting corruption, ensuring political pluralism and free elections, protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms, improving personal and family safety, building a tolerant society, ensuring stability and sustainable economic development.
