The Alliance of NGOs working in the field of Social Protection of Child and Family has set up a work group to create the normative framework for the enforcement of the Adoption Law, Info-Prim Neo reports. The group consists of civil society members and no government representatives. It includes Save the Children Moldova, the NGO Deschidere, the Adoptive Parents' Association and the humanitarian organization Amici dei bambini Moldova, the latter being the leader of the group At a recent press conference Stela Vasluian, the director of Amici dei Bambini Moldova, said that the group would recruit government members to join. “Until present no government representative has been involved because certain work instruments are being developed to be presented to the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. So for the time being we will try to act as the Ministry's work group”, said Stela Vasluian. Stela Vasluian said the initiative to form the work group belonged to civil society and was intended to assist the Ministry with its work in this area. The new Adoption Law became effective on January 30. Withing three months from this date, the Government is required to develop a normative framework for the Law's application and the Alliance of NGOs offered to help.
