City Hall restricts heavy vehicles movement

During hot weather, the Chisinau City Hall will limit the movement of heavy vehicles on municipal roads. According to a communiqué from the City Hall, the measure is being implemented in order to avoid deteriorating the concrete during high temperature days. An order to this effect was signed by Deputy Mayor Vlad Cotet, reports Info-Prim Neo. If air temperatures higher than 30 ºC are registered, heavy vehicles (over 20 tons) will not be able to circulate on road made out of asphalt concrete, between hours 11am and 6pm. Taking these restrictions into account, the Public Transportation and Communication Ways Department will issue authorizations for heavy vehicles. The restrictions do not apply to vehicles that transport passengers, food, and materials necessary for the prevention or removal of emergencies.
