City Hall offers over 200 merit stipends

The Chisinay City Hall will offer over 200 merit stipends this year to students pupils and emeritus people with remarkable achievements in education, culture, arts, science and other fields. Deputy chief of the municipal division for education, youth and sport Valentina Cujba told Info-Prim Neo that the prizes have become a tradition that dates since 1996. The 1000 lei stipends are offered on the eve of the City Day. Overall, 300 candidates applied and a special commission selected 208. The winners are students at secondary or high schools, from sport and art schools, who obtained remarkable results during the school year, such as winners of municipal and national Olympiads or international contests. 18 of the 208 stipends will be offered to emeritus people who performed well in various fields. They include teachers, scientists and writers. The festivity during which the prizes will be awarded will take place on October 12, on Friday, at the Organ Hall, beginning at 1 PM.
