City Day events in downtown Chisinau will be accompanied by artistic programme in Ciocana

Most of the cultural-artistic events dedicated to the City Day will take place on October 14 in the centre of Chisinau. But a part of the events will be held in Ciocana district.
Under the programme, children’s bands and pop and folk singers will give performances on the festive stage located on Mircea cel Batran Boulevard in Ciocana. A folk concert by the orchestra “Rapsozii Ciocanei” (“Ciocana Rhapsodists”) and by the folk dances group “Fluieras” (“Shepherd’s Pipe”) will start at 19.30. A pop music concert will begin at 22.30. The Minifootball Cup of Ciocana Veterans and exercises of martial arts will take place in parallel during the day at the stadium from Mircea cel Batran Boulevard.
Artistic and recreational events will be organized on the stage of Centru district head’s office situated in front of UNIC store. There will be presented exhibitions by plastic artists, handicraftsmen, ethno-cultural organizations, publishing houses and bookshops. The plateau “Old Fair” that will include the Peasant’s Yard and Casa Mare (Sitting Room) with rustic landscapes and terraces for spectators will be set up on 73 Stephan the Great Boulevard. National fighting competitions at different age categories will take place on the sports plateau “Citius, Altius, Fortius” located at the intersection of Bulgara Street and Stephan the Great Boulevard. There will be awarded the national prizes – ram, gander, rooster etc.
Artistic programmes organized by the Buiucani district head’s office will take place in the square of the National Opera House. The folk singers Zinaida Julea, Valentina Cojocaru, Maria Iliut, Veta Ghimpu-Munteanu, Maria Sarabas and others will take part in them. A pop music concert by Anisoara Puica, Aura, Victoria Lungu, Vasile Pascaru, Stela Mitriuc and others will start at 17.00.
The district head’s offices of Botanica and Rascani will organize performances, exhibitions, sports competitions and contests on the plateaus located on Stephan the Great Boulevard.
The festive concert in the Great National Assembly Square will begin in the evening of October 14 with the performance of the folk music orchestra “Lautarii” (“Fiddlers”) and the singers Lidia Bejenaru, Nicolae Cibotaru, Adriana Ochisanu, Nicololae Glib, and of the guest from Romania Ionut Dolsnescu. Anastasia Lazariuc, Natalia Barbu, the bands Milenium, Catarsis, Studio-One and the special guest from Romania - Fly Project will perform in the concert.
The City Day has been celebrated on October 14 since 1987.
