City Council to reduce number of specialised committees

The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) will examine Thursday, August 30, the issue concerning the reduction of the number of the specialised committees. CMC Secretary Vladimir Sarban told Info-Prim Neo that the project envisages transferring the competences of the committee for suburban and agricultural issues to the committee for budget, economy, finance and local public property, as well as merging the committee for education, social protection and health care with the committee for culture, mass media and interethnic relations. Another item on the agenda of the extraordinary CMC meeting concerns the introduction of six units of specialists in the organisational chart, who will be responsible of coordinating the activity of the standing committees. The councilmen are also expected to discuss the allocation of a 50 million lei instalment to clear the debt owed by the city authorities to the heat supplier.
