The Moldovan citizens, either they are in the country or intend to return home, will not receive unemployment benefit in the amount of 2,775 lei if they do not purchase a health insurance policy, Prime Minister Ion Chicu stated after the meeting of the Single Command Center that manages the COVID-19 pandemic IPN.
The official said all the Moldovan citizens are obliged to have a health insurance policy, either it is a state of emergency or not. Those who will not have one risk being penalized.
Premier Chicu noted the persons without a policy will pay for medical services, except for the cases of infection with the novel coronavirus.
A state of emergency was declared in Moldova in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic until May 15. A number of 752 infections with COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova so far. The death toll from the infectious disease rose to 12.
