Citizens have received updated SMS messages about social payments - pensions, allowances and other state benefits. According to the authorities, unlike vague messages in the past, the new format says clearly and unequivocally: "The Government of the Republic of Moldova has carried out the transfer" and indicates the exact amount received, IPN reports.

"It is a natural step towards more transparency, towards correct and direct information for each beneficiary," says the executive's spokesman Daniel Voda.

According to him, this measure was immediately "exported" by some political actors and professional manipulators.

"It is not news, and it was documented by the publication Nokta, that the criminal group Shor, through its disinformation networks, tried to steal the state's merits and fraudulently attribute these payments to itself in the southern districts of the country," the spokesman says.

He explains that people were receiving money from the state budget but were being lied to by propaganda channels that "Shor gave it to them".

For this reason, the authorities have decided that these messages should no longer come from individual institutions, but should state in black and white: the money comes from the Moldovan government, from the state budget. In his opinion, this is not just a technical clarification, but a concrete measure to combat manipulation and disinformation.
