The tree that will be installed in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau for the winter holidays will be an artificial one. Some 87% of the respondents of a poll launched by the municipality on its official Facebook page said they want an artificial fir tree, IPN reports.
The citizens during October 5-15 answered the question: “What kind of fir tree should be installed in the Great National Assembly Square for the winter holidays – a natural fir tree or artificial fir tree”. Of the over 3,600 given answers, 87% were in fair of an artificial fir tree.
“An artificial fir tree of 30-40 meters in height should be bought as this could be used for several years”. “Artificial – we should protect nature!”. “For artificial tree. This should be good and a new one each year. We should also make progress”. Such comments were left by the participants in the poll. Some of them said the fir trees growing near the central square of Chisinau should be decorated without being cut down.
The fir tree in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau is traditionally inaugurated at the start of December.
