The citizens of 60 countries will be able to enter Moldova without visas, IPN reports, quoting a bill approved by the Government.
Among them are the citizens of the EU member states, the U.S., Canada, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Andorra, Israel, Liechtenstein, Monaco, the Holy See, and Japan (the regime of visas to these countries was abolished in 2006) as well as of the CIS member states, Turkey, and other countries. The full list is contained in an appendix to the bill.
The foreigners exempted from visas have the right to stay in Moldova for a period of up to 90 days.
The second appendix to the bill includes the lists of 130 countries whose citizens will have to apply for visas to enter Moldova.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman said the aim of this document is to structure and standardize the legal framework regulating the crossing of Moldova’s border by foreigners and to make things clear in this respect.
