When does the identity card or the driver’s license expire? How many penalty points or road fines has a person? Does the person have debts to the state? Answers to these and other questions can be found on the portal mcabinet.gov.md. The Citizen’s Governmental Portal was launched by the E-Governance Agency on October 27. The institution said this is an efficient and modern mechanism for obtaining official information of public and personal interest, IPN reports.

To access the portal, the person needs an electronic signature that is authenticated through Mpass and the information later becomes accessible.

E-Governance Agency director Iurie Țurcanu said the portal is an aggregator about a person. By logging in, the person can see different information about him/her as a driver, taxpayer, socially insured person, etc. The portal is informative and contains not only data about the person, but also pieces of advice and references to services, if the technical overhaul certificate or mandatory insurance expires. The portal will be gradually connected to other governmental services.

Project manager Igor Bercu said the launched version is informative for the people and 11 blocks of data are available there, including the loss of held documents, information about the family doctor and the medical institution where the person is registered. The people can also see at what polling stations they can vote, especially during the pandemic, as some of the addresses can change. Other blocks refer to MPay payments, social insurance payments, fiscal situation, real estate, owned vehicles, contraventions, etc.

New blocks of data will be added in time and electronically signed certificates with legal power could be later extracted. Also, anyone could calculate the future pension on the portal.
