The citizens of the Republic of Moldova who live on the left side of the Nistru River can register beforehand in order to announce their intention to vote in this year’s parliamentary elections. The Central Election Commission made a repeated call in this regard given that no voter from the Transnistrian region registered since the option was launched at the end of May, IPN reports.
According to the Commission, the procedure is optional and is aimed at facilitating the opening of distinct polling places for the voters from the Transnistrian localities administered by the central public authorities and at establishing the approximate number of ballots that needs to be distributed to the given polling places.
The citizens can register online at https://inregistrare.cec.md/ or by submitting a written application signed individually or in a group to the Central Election Commission situated at 119 Vasile Alecsandri St in Chisinau, MD-2012. The model of the application can be downloaded here.
The voters can register beforehand throughout the year, except for the last 45 days before the election day. Not later than 25 days before the election day, the voter can annul the registration made earlier.
Over 1,200 Moldovans who are abroad have registered in advance until now. Most of these are in Italy, Germany, Romania and the United States.
