The citizens can obtain information about the vehicle through an SMS message based on data contained in the State Transport Register. The text messages are transmitted and received through the mobile phone. The Public Services Agency said that this service is intended for private individuals and legal entities served by the telecoms carrier Moldcell, IPN reports.
According to the Agency, a limited set of data about the vehicle can be obtained free of charge by sending a message to the short number 2887, namely the registration number, make, model, color, type of vehicle and of body and the conditions for receiving comprehensive information about the vehicle. For a payment of 0.5 lei, detailed information can be obtained, which includes over 20 characteristics of the vehicle. In this case, the message is sent to the short number 2886.
The message to 2887 and 2886 should contain the number of the registration certificate of the vehicle or the series and number of the temporary registration certificate of the vehicle.
So far this year, the service was used for 661 times.
