The MPs adopted in two readings the draft law to approve the Decision of the Board of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on the program of cooperation in fighting cybercrime committed by using information technology for 2016-2020. This was signed in Bishkek on September 16, 2016, IPN reports.

Deputy Minister of the Interior Oleg Babin said the Republic of Moldova will take part in the implementation of the strategy of cooperation between the CIS member states in fighting offenses committed by using information technology only to the extent to which the given actions or projects do not run counter to Moldova’s international obligations.

One of the objectives of the program is to further develop the international normative framework on the cooperation between the CIS states. There will be carried out joint prophylactic activities, investigation and special operations and ensured cooperation in the professional training of specialists. Cooperation will be developed with international organizations.

The common activities defined in the document will be financed by the interested CIS member states from the available funds planned by their competent ministries and institutions.

The decision for the Republic of Moldova will take effect when the internal procedures are completed.
