The possibility to enhance the role of national currencies in the CIS trade and identifying solutions to better payment and financial transfers systems within the region were discussed at a banking conference in Chisinau on June 20, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Moldovan government’s press service.
“Enhancing the degree of the usage of the CIS national currencies in trade operations is able to ensure a high level of integration processes in banking and, as a consequence, to contribute to integrate the economic systems of our countries. This is a priority on the agenda of Moldova’s presidency of the Community of Independent States,” Moldova prime-minister Zinaida Greceanai told the conference.
She has underlined the need to improve the cooperation processes in operating financial transactions among CIS companies, which become specially timely as the world economic-financial crisis worsens. This was also the topic discussed by the CIS heads of governments at their last reunion.
The conference has been attended by over 140 delegates from 8 CIS countries.
