The Government of Romania is ready to assist the Moldovan executive in doing reforms. The Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos discussed ways by which Romania intends to help Moldova do the assumed reforms with the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junker, IPN reports.

According to the press service of the Romanian Government, after the meeting with the Romanian official Jean-Claude Junker said they discussed the international situation, including in Moldova. “We spoke about the Republic of Moldova. Romania never turns its eyes away from Moldova as we know very well how well Romania knows and what experience Romania has in relation to Moldova and this experience is very important,” stated the President of the European Commission.

Dacian Ciolos told the journalists that he told the European official about the measures that Romania intends to take to help the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. “The current Government should fulfill the reform commitments it made. I was assured that the European Commission will become involved in offering this support if the Government of the Republic of Moldova shows that it really wants to do these reforms,” he said.

The Romanian news agency Agerpres reported that the theme of the assistance for Moldova was raised also in the meeting of Dacian Ciolos and the European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
