Cimișlia to host National Grapes Festival Sunday

The eighth National Grapes Festival will take place in Cimișlia town on Sunday, September 3. The visitors are expected to take part in the cultural and recreational program that will be staged on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt St in Cimișlia starting at 10am, IPN reports.

The visitors will be able to see performances of music, exhibitions, sales and tasting of grapes grown in sunny vineyards on Moldovan land.

The Grapes Festival will bring together grape growers and exporters, scientists working in the field, packing and grapevine saplings producers.

There will be held such thematic contests as “Most Delicious Grape”, “Giant Grape”, “Best Producer Presentation at Festival”, and “Best Artisan Presentation at Festival”.

According to event partner USAID, through the agency of the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity it offers support to the wine industry so as to enhance the competitiveness of Moldovan producers and exporters and to contribute to creating jobs in rural areas.
