The phrase 'sexual orientation' cannot be found in the Bible. This is one of the reasons why the Annunciation Church opposes the antidiscrimination bill. “God set the limits and decided the sexual orientation of the man towards the woman. God created sexuality. The man can experiment all the blessings of God within this framework,“ Vasile Filat, priest at the Annunciation Church, told a news conference on April 4, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the priest, if the persons do not observe the sexual framework set by God, they will suffer all the related consequences. In the Book of Leviticus - Moise's book in the Old Testament - God says the nontraditional sexual orientation is perverse. “In the New Testament, there are confessions by persons who got rid of this passion. Thus, it can be restrained,” said Vasile Filat. He also said that the Church is against the antidiscrimination bill because it names evil good and good evil. “We are not against these persons (homosexuals). But their sexual orientation should be a private matter and they must not make it public,” stated the priest. Vasile Filat stressed that two of the Ten Commandments refer to the sexual orientation. “God teaches us to contain our sexual obsessions. In a marriage, the man’s sexual thought should be directed only towards his wife and vice versa,” he said, adding that homosexuality destroys the nation. “Immorality leads to a larger number of disasters. There are laws given by God and they will become visible.” The priest said that he does not want the country to suffer because of these sins as all the actions will have an impact on the people.
