The opening of the eighth International Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph” was put off owing to the latest developments in Moldova, the festival’s director Virgiliu Margineanu says in an open letter, Info-Prim Neo reports. The reason for the postponement is the tense situation in Moldova. According to Virgiliu Margineanu, the organizers of the festival cannot promise that the festival will run smoothly when the political situation is unstable. Most probably, the festival will take place in October. The opening date will be announced two months beforehand, the letter says. The International Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph” has been organized since 2001 by OWH TV Studio. The festival’s participants traditionally include filmmakers from Romania. The relations between Moldova and Romania worsened after the Moldovan authorities accused the Romanian authorities of staging a coup.
