Christmas tree located in front of City Hall will be inaugurated on December 24

The municipal authorities plan to inaugurate the Christmas tree located in front of the City Hall on December 24, on the eve of Christmas celebrated according to the standard calendar. The winter holidays in the municipality of Chisinau will be opened on the same day. The City Hall is preparing a broad program of cultural-artistic events that will take place in front of the tree. Artistic groups from the municipality will give a performance titled “The Carolers are Coming” on December 24 between 14.00 and18.00. The concert “Christmas Eve” by pop and folk singers including Natalia Barbu, Geta Burlacu, Igor Rusu, Doina Arseni, Maria Iliut, Doina Sulac, Ion Paladi, Indiana, Adrian Ursu, Alexa, Ana Puica, Natalia Gordienco, Serj Kuzencov, Cristina Pintilie and the bands “Milenium”, “Edict” and others will begin at 18.00. The cultural program on December 25 will start will carols at 10.00. A new performance by pop and folk singers titled “Christmas Evening” will begin at 18.00. Recreational programmes for children with Santa Claus, his Niece and folk characters as well as games, contests, songs, carols, congratulations with the participation of actors of the municipal puppet theatre “Guguta” will be organised each day, between December 25 and January 1, starting at 13.00. Between December 24 and 31, the Chisinau administration will organise cultural-artistic events and charity meals in the municipality’s districts. Entertaining programmes for youth and adults are set to take place in the square of the “Unic” store on December 29-31, staring at 18.00. The square of the National Opera House will host a similar event for youth titled “EuroDance” between December 31 and January 7, starting at 19.00. The programme was approved by order of the Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca. The General Finance Division is to submit proposals to the Chisinau Municipal Council concerning the allocation of 13,800 lei for decorating and taking down the Christmas Tree and 150,000 lei for organising the event “A Christmas Evening”.
