Christmas holidays officially opened

On Saturday, September 23, children from several schools in Chisinau and the suburbs were the first to officially open the range of events which are to be organized in the Great National Assembly Square (GNAS) during the entire period of winter holidays. At 15.30, about 100 children from different schools of the municipality of Chisinau entered the GNAS gathering around the main Christmas tree of the country in order to participate in the Mask Parade. Children were disguised and dressed corresponding to the Christmas mood. The event has been followed by a concert, meeting children aged between 6 and 18, who sang traditional melodies for winter holidays. Other participants in the show were the laureates of “Florile Dalbe” and “Sa trăiti, sa-nfloriti” festivals. On December 30, 16.00 the performance of Christmas carols by ethno-folkloric groups will take place in the PMAN and the lights of the central Christmas tree will be lit by the president of Moldova who will participate in this event. Till this year, the Christmas tree was traditionally lighted up on December 24, on the Christmas Eve.
